John Bordelon MD, FACOG
Dr. Bordelon was born in Opelousas, LA. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree at Louisiana State University (Baton Rouge, LA), he attended LSU Medical School (Shreveport, LA), and completed his residency at LSU Medical Center.

 

He has been in private practice in Jacksonville since 1991, and joined North Florida OB/GYN in 2000. In addition to OB/GYN, his areas of special interest include endometrial ablation, no incision tubal occlusion, advanced laparoscopy & hysteroscopy, and adolescent gynecology.

 

His personal interests include gardening, biking, beachcombing, eating out with friends, antique automobiles, and cruising the beaches with the top down.

 

Samuel Christian MD, FACOG
Many, including peers, consider Dr. Samuel A. Christian to be the dean of women’s medicine at the Beaches. For more than 35 years, he has had an Obstetrics and Gynecology practice in the coastal community and has served in key leadership and administrative roles in women’s medicine at Baptist Beaches Medical Center.

 

Dr. Christian, board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, has been in private practice at the beaches in 1977. The scope of his expertise in women’s medicine and health issues, in addition to Obstetrics and Gynecology, included infertility contraception, menopause, osteoporosis and surgical procedures for pelvic floor restoration and urinary incontinence, The breadth of his knowledge in women’s and infant medicine has been recognized over the years with appointments to key staff positions at Baptist Beaches Medical Center where he established the department of Women’s and Children’s Services, served as Chief of the Medical Staff and Chairmen of the Credentialing Committee. He currently sits on the Baptist Beaches Board of Directors.

 

Dr. Christian, who joined North Florida OB/GYN in 1995, is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Florida Medical Association and the Florida Obstetrics and Gynecology Society. He is a graduate fo the Medical College of Georgia and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida Jacksonville Health Education Programs.

 

A father of two, and recent grandfather, Dr. Christian and his wife Penny have been active in community affairs at the Beaches and have participated in numerous charity and civic endeavors, such as BEAM (Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry) and the Beaches Resource Center. Penny Christian has held office as a Jacksonville Beach City Council member since 2004. She is currently running for Mayor of Jacksonville Beach.

 

Away from the office and the operating room, Dr. Christian is an avid and skilled wood worker, photographer and gardener. He and his family enjoy the outdoors and traveling. They spend much of their free time in the Western North Carolina mountains.

 

Leandro Rodriguez MD, FACOG
Dr. Rodriguez was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. He went to medical school at University of Puerto Rico (San Juan, PR), where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society that honors the top 10% of medical students.

 

He completed residency at University of Miami (Miami, FL), during which he was elected Administrative Chief Resident, received multiple recognitions, and authored various articles in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Rodriguez has been in private practice in Jacksonville Beach since 2005 and is currently the Chairman for the Department of Women and Children Services at Baptist Beaches Medical Center. His clinical interests include gynecologic ultrasound, minimally invasive treatment of heavy menstrual periods, advanced laparoscopy, and in-office surgeries like endometrial ablation and no incision permanent birth control.

 

Dr. Rodriguez is married and has two children. His hobbies include cycling, golf and spending time with his wife, kids, family and friends.
